SAFE AT PLAY was founded by parents whose 5 year old daughter was fatally injured on the school playground due to improper supervision, failure to ensure usage of age appropriate equipment, and failure to maintain and inspect equipment by a certified playground inspector. We work and advocate to prevent needless childhood playground injuries, disabilities and deaths. This non-profit organization is dedicated to Andrea Tyrah DeBruhl's memory and our commitment to protect children and promote children's right to play in a safe play environment.

Socks for Courtney is a nonprofit organization that was created in memory of nine year old Courtney Adavio Kemp. Outside of all living things, one of Courtney’s other loves were SOCKS. The wackier the better; plain, zig-zag, polka dots, mix-matched, it didn’t matter. She just loved SOCKS! A week after her passing, we found a bag of socks that we had hidden. We were saving them as part of her Birthday gift. Needless to say the moment quickly became bittersweet; smiles because it reminded us of one of her loves and tears because we realized that she would not get the opportunity to wear them. It was then we knew we must tell everyone to wear their socks – never putting off joys of today for tomorrow. In that moment “Socks for Courtney” took on a new meaning.

Today we have collected thousands of pairs of socks from many states and we work diligently to cover the feet of those who may have experienced a loss of any kind in our very community and now across the globe. Though she is missed dearly, her love of socks inspired us to bring awareness to heart disease as well as charities and civic organizations that provide services for those in need.

Want to volunteer?

Bubble-teers. Yep, we said bubble-teers. That’s what we’re calling the gracious, fun-loving individuals who might prefer to participate in this foamy insanity from the sidelines. If you’re interested in being a bubble-teer at one of our runs, please fill out the bubble-teer form on the Volunteer page to get things rolling. Thanks for your help, we’re excited to have you as part of the team!
