Keauhou Canoe Club (KCC) was established in 1980 at Keauhou Bay in South Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii. The club location is the birthplace of Kauikeaouli, Kamehmeha III, who was the King of Hawaii from 1825-1854. Kamehameha III is one of the most revered Hawaiian monarchs for instituting public education, a constitution, land ownership by the common man and other progressive reforms. The KCC mission is to educate our youth, our membership, and the community at large about Hawaiian culture, values, and traditions and to promote competitive and recreational outrigger canoe paddling and other water sports in historic Keauhou Bay. Competitive paddlers, numbering 150 paddlers , range in age from 7-75 years old and have won numerous state regatta championships and long distance events. The recreational program, numbering about 350 members, provides an opportunity for members, guests and visitors to experience and participate in outrigger canoe paddling and learn about Hawaiian culture and traditions.

Want to volunteer?

Bubble-teers. Yep, we said bubble-teers. That’s what we’re calling the gracious, fun-loving individuals who might prefer to participate in this foamy insanity from the sidelines. If you’re interested in being a bubble-teer at one of our runs, please fill out the bubble-teer form on the Volunteer page to get things rolling. Thanks for your help, we’re excited to have you as part of the team!
